A Word From Diane

Hey!

Good Day to you and I hope your day is going well so far! :)
Welcome to all our new subscribers this week and I hope you grow
to love us as so many have ... we couldn't do this without you!

WOW! You guys are the greatest! The ProBizTips forum is hopping and I LOVE getting to know everyone ... I'm even learning quite a few things from all of you ... :)

In case you didn't get last week's email, the ProBizTips Forum had been disappointedly slow so I brainstormed and came up with a way to get more people to visit and participate ... :)

I had decided to do a monthly post contest to increase participation and get the forum hopping ...

Each month I will pick a random winner who has made at LEAST 4 posts for the month. 2 of them must be helpful or informative posts -- ads or freebies, etc will not count. EACH POST will count as ONE ENTRY ... so the more posts, the more chances.

The winner will receive a FREE solo ad in ProBizTips which is worth $197.

Since solos are not available to the public right now, it's worth even more so ...

Register and Post at:
http://www.probiztips.com/forum/

There was also a HUGE SURGE in the C*ASH CONTEST participation ... Thanks, Guys! :)

If you didn't win this week, don't stop trying. $25 for a minute of time is worth it ... http://ProBizTips.com/cashcontest.shtml

In the meantime ... sit back, relax and enjoy today's issue!

Leave No Room For Failure
by John Colanzi

Imagine what you could achieve if:

* You were 100 % focused on your goal
* Eliminated all self - doubt
* Believed it were impossible to fail.

Are there really individuals who think like this?

You bet!

I saw a story the other night about two modern day cowboys.

Their real life experiences couldn't have been more amazing if it was written by a Hollywood screen writer.

The next time I'm tempted to "suck my thumb" and have a "pity party" I'll think of these amazing men.

The young men are brothers and champion rodeo stars.

But one day their lives were changed by an incredible twist of fate.

The private plane they were flying in ran out of gas.
The pilot couldn't find anywhere to land safely and they crashed.

Everyone on board had a broken back except one of the brothers.

Battered and bruised he got out of the plane. Looking at the wreckage he realized the plane was about to catch fire and all the passengers inside were trapped.

Without hesitation he forgot about his own injuries, ignored the personal risk to his life and set his mind on the goal of saving the other passengers including his brother.

He had:

* Focused on his goal
* Left no room for failure
* Took immediate action

The interviewer said to the young man, "You must really feel like a hero?"

Stoically he replied, "No, I knew what I had to to do. I don't think of myself as a hero."

Amazing!

No trash talk, no in your face, just a modest young man focused on what needed to be done.

If you think he's amazing, wait until you hear about his brother....

Well you know about the young hero who saved his brother, but that was just the beginning of the incredible feats of these young men.

His younger brother arrived at the hospital with a broken back. The doctors told him he would never be able to compete again.

The interviewer asked the young man, "What did it feel like when the doctors told you you'd never be able to ride again?"

Without a second thought he replied, "I don't think I really heard what they said." "There's no negative in my program."

When I heard that I couldn't believe it.

Here's a champion athlete with a broken back and his only comment is "There's no negative in my program."

Wow!

I wish I could think like that.

Was he in denial, was he crazy, no way.

Instead of cursing circumstance, crying poor me, he set a goal and never looked back.

As soon as he was able, he began 4 hours a day of rehabilitation.

When commenting on the pain he said, "My only focus was on what I needed to do to remove the pain."

Low and behold after 16 months of:

* Being 100 % focused on his goal
* Believing it was impossible to fail.

The two brothers are rodeo stars again.

All because "There is no negative in their programs."

Imagine what you could achieve with just half the determination of these modern day cowboys.

Maybe Willie Nelson knows what he's talking about when he sings " My heroes have always been cowboys."

5 Ways to Improve Client Retention

Business owners are often encouraged to focus on continually gaining new clients and prospects. But it is equally, if not more important to focus on the clients you already have.

Use the power of follow-up and good customer service to keep your existing customers coming back:

1. Invite your clients/customers to test a new product or service before your offer it to the public. When they feel like you've singled them out for an opportunity, they will know how important your business is to them.

2. Offer freebies and discounts to previous and existing customers. Let them know there are tangible perks to continuing their patronage of your business.

3. Find out what you have in common with your customers, then start conversations with them that are not related to your business transaction. This helps customers feel they have a bond with you.

4. Know what your competition is offering and let customers/clients know that you offer something better: lower prices, more value, guarantees, etc...

5. Spend between 10 and 30 minutes each day talking with existing clients, learning what they want, what you can do to provide them with better service, and what they didn't like about your service or products. When you implement their ideas, let them know. This will show them that you really were listening.

3 Ways To Create Long Term Income!
by Alexandria Brown

Have you ever accidentally lost an important file on your computer? Perhaps your computer crashed (again) or your cat sauntered over a dooming sequence of keys. Remember that little pang in your stomach you felt when you realized that file was gone for good?

OK, now imagine losing your entire e-zine subscriber list. Did that pang just get a bit more intense? (Ouch!)

"Master List Builder" Joel Christopher asked several Internet marketing gurus the question, "If your office was burning down and you could save one thing, what would it be?"

The unanimous answer among all of them was, "my list "!

Your list is your goldmine. It's your pool of warm prospects and clients with whom you've taken months to build a level of credibility and trust. They're your ticket to a steady stream of income.

It can take years to build a large collection of opt-in subscribers. But they can disappear in a flash if they're not protected.

So, are YOU backing up your list on a regular basis? (Be honest!) If not, let's get you started today.

<< If Your List Resides on Your Computer...

If you send out your e-zine or e-mail promotions from your own computer, you MUST make backing-up your list a daily habit. And by "backing-up," I mean saving your list to a disk or location other than your hard drive. For example, you can save your list to:

1) a Zip disk (you'll need a Zip drive)
2) a CD (you'll need a CD burner)
3) a floppy disk (these don't hold much data though)
4) an external hard drive (these are less expensive now than they used to be)
5) a secure, Web-based file storage service.

I currently use option 5 for my computer files. The service I use is called I-Backup and there are many others out there, starting at as little as $3 per month. I prefer this option because I have so many large files on my computer that I'd have to backup my files to several separate disks or CDs. And because this method is so EASY, I'm more likely to follow through and back-up my files on a regular basis! I also like I-Backup for traveling, as I can upload files that I'll need to access on the road. This way I don't have to bring disks with me.

If you use a type of list management software that resides on your computer or your own Web server, such as Broadc@st or MailLoop, it can probably schedule automatic backups for you. See the program's help files or contact their support center for assistance.

<< If You Use an Online List Service... >>

Even if you host your list online with a listserve (such as Topica) or an autoresponder service (such as GetResponse) that should make their own secure backups, you should still make your own backup copy on a regular basis! Just download or "export" a copy of your list each week for safekeeping. It should be pretty easy to do. This procedure varies depending on what program you use, so see its help files or contact their support center for assistance.

<< Consider Purchasing a Battery Backup System >>

Southern California is known for its frequent power outages, and they were wreaking havoc on my computer. So I purchased a battery backup unit. (I chose APC's 650 model.) It's about the size of a breadbox and keeps my computer going for another hour or so in the event of a power outage. This gives me ample time to back up any files I'm working on and shut down my computer properly. It also functions as a surge-protector to keep my computer safe from electric surges. You can buy units like these at any large office supply store, and they range in price from $100 to $500.

<< Don't Put It Off Any Longer! >>

I know that backing-up your files seems like another irritating addition to your busy schedule. But remember that you've worked hard to build your list ... and your business. So take just a few minutes each week to protect that investment.

TIP: Pick a certain day each week to back up your list. For example, my electronic calendar automatically reminds me to do this every Friday.

ProBizTips Tip of the Week

3 Ways To Convert Visitors Into Subscribers!
by Larry Dotson

1) Create Profitable Relationships

Create a friendly, long-term relationship with all your customers. Practice good customer service and follow-up with them on a regular basis. You could follow-up with gifts, greeting cards, free things, coupons, special offers, reminders, your e-zine, helpful advice, etc.

2) Create Strategic Deals

Create strategic alliances with other web sites. You could exchange banner ads, sell each other's products as back-end products, cross-promote, etc. You could also create a web site together and promote it on your separate web sites. You would both just split the costs and profits.

3) Create Targeted Traffic

Allow your visitors to reprint the content on your web site. Just ask them to include your resource box and a link to your site in exchange. This will turn your content into a traffic machine and the external links will help increase your ranking in some search engines.
