Triple Your Business In Three Ways
by John Jantsch
There really are only 3 marketing functions...once you master them, the rest of the game is pretty simple.
Every small business owner wants more business. So what do they do. They focus all of their marketing attention one thing - advertising, lead generation, making the phone ring.
Oh sure, without a steady flow of new leads most businesses are sunk. But, it does no good to have a bunch of leads unless you can turn them into clients. And, you are absolutely missing the boat if you don't have a systematic way to turn those clients into a bigger and bigger clients.
You can triple your business almost overnight if you will focus all of your marketing efforts on 3 functions.
Lead Generation, Lead Conversion, and Client Reselling. (I kind of made that last term but I rather like it.)
Lead Generation is finding ways to get "qualified prospects" to call, write, click, or otherwise act in a manner to find out more about your firm.
Lead Conversion is your firm's systematic approach to turning those leads into sales, customers, and clients.
Client Reselling is your method of taking your existing clients and getting larger, more frequent, and new purchases, or leveraging your relationship to get more clients and selling opportunities.
If you can create systems that help you do all three of these marketing functions then you are home free...and tripling your business is guaranteed. (guarantees are a tremendous lead conversion tool by the way)
All 3 of these marketing functions are intertwined, yet I rarely come across a small business owner that understands this.
Here's what I mean.
LGN -You must have multiple ways to target your best prospects and get the phone to ring. Your website, your Yellow Pages ad, direct mail, flyers, pizza box coupons, church bulletin ads, radio ads, airplane banners...just to mention a few.
LCN - You then must also have a set response when the phone rings. Presentation over the phone, send out an educational packet, direct them to a special page on your website, have them complete an evaluation, set an appointment (with a predetermined outcome) The point is that response must be predetermined and scripted. Everyone in the organization should be able to deliver it!
CRS - Once you land a client you must have a preplanned strategy to get them to buy again, more, bigger, faster, updated, upgraded, versions of your business. You should even look to create or add products for this purpose. In addition you must build referrals into your reselling efforts.
Look there are many things that fall under the heading of marketing but if you can just draw up a simple checklist of steps for perfecting these three functions (even if you do nothing else) then you will absolutely crush your competition.

10 High-Impact Viral Marketing Strategies
Viral Marketing is allowing people to giveaway and use your free product or service in order to multiply your marketing quickly over the internet. The idea behind viral marketing is that you include your ad with the freebie people giveaway or use. Below are ten high impact viral marketing strategies:
1. Allow people to reprint your articles on their web site, in their e-zine, newsletter, magazine or ebooks. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.
2. Allow people to use any of your freebies as free bonuses for products or services they sell. Include your ad on all your freebies.
3. Allow people to use your online discussion board for their own web site. Some people don't have one. Just include your banner ad at the top of the board.
4. Allow people to sign up for a free web site on your server. Since you are giving away the space, require them to include your banner ad at the top of the site.
5. Allow people to add their link to your free web site directory. Just require that they return a link back to your web site, advertising your directory.
6. Allow people to provide your free online service to their web site, visitors, or e-zine subscribers. They could be free e-mail, e-mail consulting, search engine submissions, etc.
7. Allow people to give away your free software. Just include your business advertisement inside the software program.
8. Allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site.
9. Allow people to place an advertisement in your free ebook if, in exchange, they give away the ebook to their web visitors or e-zine subscribers.
10. Allow people to give away your free ebook to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread your ad all over the internet.

How to Easily Create a Search-Engine Friendly Navigation Menu For Your Website
by Fabian Lim
A navigation menu is an important element of a website.
A good navigation menu helps your visitors navigate through your website efficiently - in as few mouse-clicks as possible.
You can think of a website navigation menu like the "Table of Contents" of a book.
And the greater the number of web pages on your website, the more important the role of a website navigation menu.
Another important benefit of a navigation menu is it optimizes the internal linking structure of your website and allows the navigation menu links to rank better in search engines, since all web pages will be pointing to it.
(For example, if your website has 1000 web pages, each navigation menu link will have 1000 web pages pointing to it. This will result in the navigation menu links ranking higher than the other web pages)
Here's how you can use this knowledge to improve the search-engine rankings of selected web pages - Simply include the selected web pages as links in the navigation menu and you'll automatically have the rest of the web pages pointing to them.
And finally, here's one method you can use to easily create a website navigation menu - Using Server Side Includes (SSI).
What are Server Side Includes?
------------------------------
Server Side Includes (SSI) are simply instructions (also known as "directives") that are included in a HTML document to execute a specific command e.g. inserting the content of an HTML file.
The SSI directives are "processed" at the Server side, before it reaches the requesting browser (hence the name Server Side Includes).
As a result, the "processed" SSI directives merge seamlessly with the HTML file.
Here's an example of SSI in action at a website (i.e. the left navigation menu):
http://www.BizSuccessOnline.com.
Notice the left navigation menu is made up of static HTML links.
This is to allow search-engine spiders to crawl through the website to discover other web pages (via the navigation menu links).
An alternative solution to get your web pages spidered by search-engines is to use a sitemap.
A sitemap is simply a webpage that contains links to every webpage on your website and should be linked from your home page.
This will provide the search-engine spiders a path to follow and will ultimately result in your web pages getting fully indexed.
You can learn more about sitemaps here:
http://SiteMapSoftware.com
Note that most, but not all servers have SSI's enabled. Please check with your web host to find out whether SSI is enabled in your server.
How to Easily Create a Navigation Menu Using SSI?
-------------------------------------------------
Step 1# - Create a HTML navigation menu file
This is the navigation menu file that will be inserted into your HTML pages and is also your HTML navigation menu template.
A simple horizontal text HTML navigation menu can look like this:
Home | Products | Pricing | About Us | Contact Us
(You'll need to hyperlink each of the above text to make these navigation links clickable by using your favorite HTML editor e.g. FrontPage or Dreamweaver)
You need to save this file with a .shtml extension once this file has been created e.g. topnavi.shtml
Step 2# - Insert navigation menu file into HTML file
Open up the HTML file (e.g. products.html) and place the cursor on the location where you wish to insert the navigation menu.
Click here to view the SSI directive:
http://BizSuccessOnline.com/SSI_CodeSnippet
And copy and paste the above SSI directive at the cursor.
(Be sure to replace "your_navigation_filename.shtml" with the name of your navigation menu file)
Note: You CANNOT use absolute path with an SSI directive:
e.g. do not use http://yourdomain.com/topnavi.shtml
And finally, save the HTML file with a .shtml extension e.g. products.shtml
Step 3# - Upload files onto your server
The last step is to upload the newly created .shtml files onto your web server and check to make sure the pages display properly.
And if you view the HTML source code of your HTML file on a live internet connection, you'll notice that the SSI directive would have been replaced by the actual HTML navigation menu code.
Maintaining your navigation menu is now a simple matter of changing the contents on the navigation file.
That's all there is to it!
Give it a go!

Once upon a time, there was an officer of the Royal Navy named Captain Bravado who showed no fear when facing his enemies. One day, while sailing the Seven Seas, his lookout spotted a pirate ship approaching, and the crew became frantic. Captain Bravado bellowed, "Bring me my red shirt!"
The first mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, and while wearing the brightly colored frock, the Captain led his crew into battle and defeated the mighty pirates. That evening, all the men sat around on deck recounting the triumph of earlier. One of them asked the Captain, "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before battle?"
The Captain replied, "If I were to be wounded in the attack, the shirt would not show my blood. Thus, you men would continue to fight, unafraid." All of the men sat and marveled at the courage of such a manly man's man. As dawn came the next morning, the lookout spotted not one, not two, but TEN pirate ships approaching. The crew stared in worshipful silence at the Captain and waited for his usual orders.
Captain Bravado gazed with steely eyes upon the vast armada arrayed against his ship, and without fear, turned and calmly shouted, "Get me my brown pants."
