5 Deadly Viral Ebook Marketing Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Creating a viral ebook marketing campaign can be one of the easiest and most effective ways to promote your product or website.
Before you begin writing your viral ebook, you need to know the 5 most common mistakes that can cost you time and potential income.
1) Never Link Directly to Content You Do Not Control
You should always use redirect links placed on your own server instead of direct links to affiliate programs.
You never know when the program you are promoting will change the way its affiliate links work or go out of business. Using redirect links allows you to quickly replace the affiliate links with the new version or redirect to a similar product.
I can not stress enough how important this step is to you. Once you launch your viral ebook, you can not get it back to make changes to it. Using redirect links will prevent dead links and lost profit.
2) Avoid Using Dated Information By Providing Too Specific Details.
Do not talk about free trials or time specific discounts.
The affiliate program you are promoting my not always be offering the trials or discounts. You will anger your readers if they can not get the bargains you promised.
You should also avoid statements like "Just Released" or "Just Launched!". The program you are talking about may have been around for years but the time your reader gets your ebook.
3) Never Include Information You Do Not Want All Over The World.
Because of the viral nature of your ebook, it will eventually spread to every corner of the world.
If you include personal information like your home phone or your cell phone number, you may be unpleasantly awakened at all hours of the night. The person in England or Japan, may not be aware you live in United States.
It is best to provide only an email address or autoresponder for the initial contact.
4) Do Not Brand The Ebook Yourself
Putting yourself in the position of having to manually brand and send each copy of the ebook is a sure way to turn your campaign into NIGHTMARE.
You may be thinking, "What's the BIG DEAL?"
Let imagine for a moment that your ebook starts out slowly and only 10 people request a branded version the first week. It takes you about 6 minutes per ebook to brand it and send it to the user. You have just given up an hour of your life.
Now those 10 people each give it away to 10 people that also request branded versions. You now have 100 new requests at 6 minutes each. Now were are talking 60 hours.
As you can see with each passing generation, you will quickly become unable or unwilling to fulfill requests.
The solution is to give your carriers the ability and instructions to rebrand the ebooks themselves. This will take you out of the loop and allow your virus to grow exponentially unattended.
5) Do Not Forget To Launch A New Window For External Links
When linking to any information not found directly in your ebook, you should always open a new window. Many sales processes use javascript that could cause compatibly problems if viewed within your ebook.
It would be terrible if a viewer where ready to buy a product based on your reccomendation but was unable to because you failed to include this simple step.
Avoiding these 5 simple viral ebook marketing mistakes will greatly increase the profitability of your campaign while avoiding the pitfalls.

10 Incredible Ways To Sell Your Products Now
1. Make your reader visualize they have already bought your product in your ad. Tell them what results they have gotten and how it makes them feel. They'll already become emotionally attached before they buy.
2. Turn your ad into an article. It could be a story, or how-to article. This will lead them into your ad without them knowing it's an ad. They'll already be interested when they get to your sales pitch.
3. Make sure you show your reader that they are getting a bargain. Tell them the usual price you sell your product for is $99. Then tell them if they order today they can buy it for $69.95.
4. Direct your ad headline to your target audience. Your readers will feel important and belong to a select group of people who buy your product. For example; "Attention! Accountants, Discover A New Way To Increase Your Client Base!"
5. Tell your reader how fast they can receive your product or service in your ad. Their buying decision may be based on how fast they can receive your product. They may need it by a certain deadline.
6. Use bullets to highlight your product or services benefits. Benefits are the key to selling anything, make them standout in your ad. You can use dots, dashes, or circles to highlight them.
7. Give a money back guarantee that surpasses a normal one. Instead of the normal timed guarantee, give them extra back. Tell them they can keep the free bonus or give them double their money back.
8. Tell your reader they'll receive surprise bonuses. This'll raise your reader's curiosity and make them want to buy so they can find out what the surprise bonuses are.
9. Let your reader know this specific package will not be offered again. You must create urgency so people buy now. You may always sell the same product but not with the same bonuses or price.
10. Give them a couple tips in your ad that will help them with their problem. This will give your business credibility and gain your readers trust to buy your products or services.

4 Ways In Which You Can Achieve Critical Mass

Critical Mass Website Promotion is the elite goal rarely attained by website marketers in any industry. Reaching critical mass and getting targeted website traffic on autopilot (meaning you don't have to promote your site for 6 months and the traffic NEVER declines) is the Holy Grail of internet marketing.
When you hit critical mass in your market, things change drastically for you and your business. Your marketing efforts go down in direct proportion to your customer support and sales going up. It sounds awesome. It IS awesome. But only a tiny fraction of websites on the net every achieve critical mass. Here's a nutshell version of what it takes.
1. Work Hard
Internet marketing is no game to be manipulated by using software and quick fixes to a very large problem, which is long-term, steady traffic coming to your site.
There is no magic pill, silver bullet, or guru secret that will help you to achieve critical mass in your market. Hard work and intense study of the internet and how people surf, what they want, and how you get in front of them while they are surfing is the only answer.
The internet marketing game is for professionals and you MUST make yourself a professional marketer of your "shop" just as you would in the real world.
2. Understand Your Market
Understanding exactly who you are selling your products or services to is the crucial first step in achieving critical mass.
The worst thing you could ever do is put the hard work in and achieve critical mass in the wrong market for your products and services!
Know your market. Know your best, ideal customer inside and out. Get your links in front of them, ideally, everywhere they surf for related information to your site.
3. Be Vigilant
Over the years I have watched people listen to what I have to say about website promotion and then take one of two paths:
1) They work their tails off and do what I tell them, with great results and rewards for their efforts (more sales, more traffic, more branding and recognition).
2) They buy my book, take a half-hearted shot at the easiest things in the book, get bored, tired, or impatient, and then they go back to chasing down quick fixes.
I have watched people who had the answers they needed in their hands, and drop them for more glamorous-sounding, fast solutions. Which we all know don't work.
I will say this again - THERE IS NO WAY TO TO QUICKLY OR INSTANTLY ACHIEVE CRITICAL MASS IN YOUR MARKET!
You must work like anyone in business who is in it to succeed works. If you do not know everything about your business and how to market it, your competition will eat you alive because they WILL know everything, I guarantee it.
Just like in the real world, the one who works harder, smarter, and is vigilant about his or her business is going to come out on top every time.
You owe it to yourself and your family to learn your craft and do it better than most people in your market if you want to succeed.
4. Achieve Critical Mass
In order to hit critical mass, you must be everywhere, or nearly everywhere your best customers surf.
This means linking back to your site from reciprocal links, articles, press releases, joint ventures, forum participation, and good search engine positioning for your best keywords.
In order to have literally thousands of links pointing to your site in high-profitle areas where human beings actually go and read/surf, it takes pure time and effort.
You must submit your articles to the best free content directories. Over and over until you have published everywhere you can that is relevant to your market.
You must secure deals with high-profitle sites in your market to swap QUALITY links. I am talking about links that people will click on, not just links that only search engines will see.
You must be everywhere that is a good place to be on the net in your market. This takes time. This takes hard work. This is what it takes to have a viable, long term website traffic solution for your business.
Reaching critical mass, or even sitting down and deciding a plan of action to pursue critical mass in your market takes maturity and a final realization that you can have anything you want in the world if you want to work for it. The day you stop chasing quick fixes to drive spurts of unqualified, un-targeted traffic to your site is the first step in achieving your goals as a professional internet marketer.
