Kaylen's still doing wonderfully. She's gained 4 pounds and 4 inches since birth -- just growing like a weed! After the feeding problems were figured out, she's turned out to be the most easy-going and happy baby... just like my son Braden was. She hardly *ever* fusses (usually only for a minute or 2 when she's really tired) and sleeps 7-8 hours a night... love it! :)
Tomorrow is my birthday -- I turn 29. I don't know quite what to think about it. It's *that number* right before 30... :P As you get older, do you ever think about how it seems like just yesterday that you were in school and wishing you were grown? My how things change over the years... I used to ignore it when my mom would tell me not to be in a rush to grow up. Now I understand and tell my 6 year old son the same thing... :P

8 Things I have Learned As An Internet Marketer

I started as an internet marketer, like I am sure a few of you have with various mlm programs. After little success with these types of programs I finally decided it was time I make my own website and get serious about marketing on the internet. Although I have not been doing this as long as some, there have been a few things that I have learned along the way that have helped me achieve much more success than my previous ventures in mlm. I would like to share with you 8 things I have learned since becoming an internet marketer.
1. Choosing The Right Program
Choosing the right program to affiliate with is still a relevant way of making money on the internet. I learned not believe all the hype surrounding every affiliate program on the net. Instead I look for affiliate programs that pay at least 30% commissions and are run by reputable internet marketers.
2. Choosing The Right Tools
I learned quickly that you need much more than just a website to become successful. Choosing the right tools to optimize your internet business is crucial if you hope to succeed. Tools like auto responders, professional emailboxes, and software that help with linking and submitting your site to search engines is very important information to have. However, some of these tools can be expensive, but the return on investment is priceless.
3. Targeted Traffic
Getting the right people to your website is something all internet marketers are constantly working to achieve. In this business you find a lot of tire kickers, these are the people that may download a free product or tour your site but they have no intentions of ever buying any of your products or services. Finding targeted traffic is what you need, people that our looking for a home-based business or a product or service you are selling.
4. Quality Leads
Quality leads are very important when talking about targeted traffic. there are plenty of companies that offer leads and subscription services, and I suggest trying a few different companies out, because you just do not know what type of leads you will get. One of the first companies I used to buy leads from provided me with leads from people all over the world, most of whom did not speak English, or they wanted me to either give them money or go out on a date! So I learned to ask around and investigate a few companies out before I invest in leads.
5. Publishing A Newsletter
Publishing my own newsletter is very important, probably more important than I first realized. With your own newsletter filled with relevant content that can help your prospects, you gain trust and credibility. Your prospects are more willing to buy your product or service if they feel as if they know you.
6. Reciprocal Linking
This was a powerful lesson to be learned. Search engines love reciprocal links when deciding your page rank and position in their search engine. This was an eye opener. With the right software I was able to make reciprocal linking work to my advantage, without having to manually do it myself. Reciprocal linking has helped me with my alexa ranking as well as in the search engines.
7. Finding JV Partners
Finding Joint Venture (JV) partners is also very important is building a successful online venture, in a sense reciprocal linking is a JV partnership in that you are hoping your link on someone else site will bring you visitors and vice-a-versa. However, there are also other JV partnerships available and are quite easy to find, if you know where to look (see below). I have a few JV partners that I work with to mutually make our businesses profitable. It is the old adage of “you scratch my back, I scratch you back” where each partner brings something different to the table and combined they form a JV partnership.
8. Business Forums
I found reading and posting to business forums to be invaluable to the success of my business. These are great places to learn from people that have been doing business for a long time. I also told you about finding JV partners, well business forums is where to find people you would like to do business with. Most forums allow you to use a signature file that you can use as “free” advertising for your business.
In closing, I would like to add that there are probably a hundred more lessons I have learned since starting my online business. I continue to learn something new everyday that only helps me in my goal of becoming a successful internet marketer. Good luck.

10 Killer Ways To Defeat Your Competition
1. Offer free original content. It's important to give your visitors information they can't find anywhere else. If you're the only source, they'll visit your site.
2. Give people free software. Most people like to find good deals on software for their computers. If the software is free, that is even better.
3. Hold free contests or sweepstakes. Most people like to win things. If you can fulfill that need, people will stop by to visit.
4. Provide a free web directory. Create a directory of web sites on a popular topic that will attract your target audience.
5. Offer a free e-zine. Most people love to get free information that's e-mailed to them regularly. This saves them time and money.
6. Make your web site look professional. You want to have your own domain name, easy navigation, attractive graphics, etc.
7. Let people read your ad before they get to your freebie. When you use free stuff to lure people to your web site list it below your ad copy.
8. Attract the target audience that would buy your product or service. A simple way to do this is to survey your existing customers.
9. Test and improve your ad copy. There are many people who write an ad and never change it. Make sure you get the highest possible response rate.
10. Give people an urgency so they buy now. Many people are interested in your product but they put off buying it until later and eventually forget about it.

7 Insider Tips To Joint Venture Success

Most marketers miss out on huge chunks of available profits by not doing enough joint ventures.
It’s the easiest way to leverage on resources you wouldn’t otherwise have.
There’re probably two reasons why joint ventures are not used fully. These are the fear of work and fear of failure. But do you know, you’ve failed in the first place by having this mindset?
While I’m not here to preach, I do want to emphasize, no marketer is ever an island. You’ve got to leverage your time and resources with fellow marketers to improve yourself and to maximize your success.
The magic word here is leverage.
Leverage everything you do, including joint venture, which is one of the most powerful forms of leverage you can ever tap on.

Don’t look at your potential partner as just someone you can tap on, builf the contact with sincerity and friendliness.
This way you can build a relationship to last a lifetime, as opposed to a one-time partnership.
Tip 2: Think Long-Term
This follows closely to the above setting of building relationships.
You can joint venture continuously whenever each one has a beneficial product or promotion. The key’s to create joint ventures for life, not just once off.
Tip 3: Don’t Give Up
I know it’s disappointing when you don’t get responses from potential joint ventures partners. But don’t forsake the cause because of a few failures, you may never know when you hit the goldmine.
It’s the same as looking for a job. While you won’t get every interview you sent out for, getting the one good one is what’s important.
Spread your eggs and just do it. Contact as many potential partners as you can and you’ll surely get results.
Tip 4: Always Be On The Lookout For Opportunities
Another way to make joint ventures work for you is to participate in them instead. Like yourself, many marketers are also looking for partners to work with, the problem’s where do you find them?
Forums. Forums are the absolute best places to network and seek like-minded people for potential joint ventures.
There’s no advertising cost and you can be on the frontline of new opportunities simply by scanning forums in your niche.
