Skyrocket Website Traffic With "OPT"

If you are looking for an immediate increase in your website traffic, and you don't want to shell out a lot of money for pay-per-click search engines, I'll let you in on a secret that has helped me make many sales and build large lists very quickly with zero cash up-front: it's called "OPT" (Other People's Traffic).

Other website operators have the targeted website visitors you need right now - you just have to convince them to funnel some of it your way. Your mission is to find people who can refer you their traffic either for a percentage of the sale, a flat fee, a trade for services, or on a per-click basis.

NOTE: I prefer to pay people a big percentage of the sale - as much as 50% - because it has the lowest risk for me as the merchant. I only pay when a sale is made and, therefore, I make it well worth someone's while to work with me. That's the whole idea behind a successful affiliate program.

The quickest way to find people who can refer you traffic is to take inventory of whom you know. Who operates a site drawing the type of visitors you need?

For example, if you have a website that sells fishing lures, then you want to find ezines, websites, and discussion groups dealing with fishing rods, tackle boxes, fish hooks, fishing trips, fishing supplies, etc.

Get the picture?

Once you have exhausted the list of people you know, go to the search engines and do a search for the keywords that would bring targeted traffic to your site. Make a list of the websites that rank well in those searches and approach those individuals with related, but non-competing sites about a traffic deal.

To continue the above example, that means go to the search engines and do searches for "fishing rods", "fishing trips" and related keywords to your site to find others who already have the traffic you need, but who don't directly compete with you.

Try to work all your agreements on a traffic trade or per-sale basis first so you won't have to pay any cash out of pocket until after a sale is made.

If you don't have any traffic to trade, or they don't want to get paid by the sale only, then you should negotiate a per-click or per-signup deal.

Paying by the click or by the signup means you only pay when a visitor comes to your site or signs up to receive your newsletter or other information. With this structure you only pay for performance and don't waste any money on advertising that doesn't directly result in bringing visitors to your site.

You have 3 main choices for funneling another site's traffic to yours: endorsed mailings, pop-up windows, and link trades.

1. Endorsed Mailings

Endorsed mailings are by far the best way to funnel traffic from another site. A well-written endorsement letter by a website operator who already has a relationship with people who can buy from you is often worth its weight in gold. An effective endorsed mailing can result in traffic, sales, and money in your pocket within just a few hours of sending it.

2. Pop-Up Windows

Focused "pop-up" windows represent the next fastest way to funnel traffic to your site. When used incorrectly, pop-up windows create an annoying distraction for web surfers. Make sure your pop-up windows are relevant to exactly what visitors came to your site for in the first place!

My experiments have shown that a "pop-under" works best. This is where your website pops behind the other person's page. Go to http://www.madmarketer.com/7dayebook for an example. You'll see my other ebook, "eBook Secrets Exposed," pop *under* the 7 Day eBook site.

When the visitor is finished viewing the main page and closes it... your page is right there!

TIP: For maximum sales, make sure that your page is closely related to the page that is referring traffic to you.

3. Link Trades

The next way to funnel traffic from other sites is using "Reciprocal Links" - which is a fancy way of saying trading links with someone. Make sure you negotiate a high profile spot for your link on the other person's site.

Creativity is key when negotiating with other websites to steer some or all of their traffic your way. Show them how sending you traffic will make them money through affiliate commissions, how their readers will appreciate being introduced to new and valuable products (yours), or how you can open a new stream of income for them by paying them a few cents for every unique visitor they refer to you.

They win by making extra money and making their customers happy. You win by attracting traffic to your site that is focused and highly targeted to your offers.

Creating win-win scenarios like these will cause people to jump at the chance to work with you and send you all the "OPT" you can handle.

10 Killer Ways To Jump Start Your Profits

1. Offer to write exclusive articles (that means you only submit them to one place) for high traffic web sites in exchange for a link back to your site.

2. Create a positive online image. Tell your visitors about fundraisers you have sponsored or that you donate a part of your profits to charity.

3. Improve your customer service on a regular basis. Try out new technologies that make it easier to communicate with your customers over the net.

4. Ask your customers what they would like to see offered by your business in the future. This type of information can boost your sales.

5. Make sure your web host isn't losing your sales. If you get an e-mail from someone that told you that they couldn't access your site, it might be your host.

6. Allow your visitors experience to be an enjoyable one at your web site. Provide easy navigation, good content, fast loading graphics, search options, etc.

7. Keep changing or adding freebies to your web site. If people see the same freebie in your ads they will say to themselves, "been there done that".

8. Add a directory to your web site. When visitors submit their web site, e-mail them confirming their link has been added and remind them to revisit.

9. Organize your marketing and advertising into a plan. Create a list of daily, weekly, monthly and all other future promotional plans.

10. Trade links only with web sites that your target audience or yourself would visit. They should offer their visitors valuable content or freebies.

How To Create Emotionally Irresistible Web Copy

If you want to outrageously successful in selling anything with your sales copy, you should focus your message on hitting your prospects' every emotional "hot buttons" to make them pumped-up enough to respond and give you their money.

Because people make buying decisions based on emotions, not logic.

I don't care if your market are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies with years of college education, or rocket scientists with off-the-scale I.Qs...

As long as they're humans, they're still mainly using their emotions when making any buying decision.

Because it's human nature. They can't resist it.

That's not a big secret at all, but most people still don't have a clue on how to effectively stir their prospects' emotions to make them want their products or services then buy without hassle.

Actually, making your web copy more emotionally appealing is simple. Here are 3 surefire steps to do it:

Step 1: Find Their Demands or "Hot Buttons"

You should dig deep into your prospects' life and uncover their deepest desire. I mean, find out what they really want. Do they have dreams they want to achieve? Do they have really painful problems they desperately want to get rid as fast and as easy as humanly possible? Find them out.

But how to do it? The answer is : RESEARCH them to the outrageous extreme!

Here are some of my favorite ways to research:

- Go to their favorite discussion forums and take notes on their posts.

- Survey them.

- And practically read everything they read including websites, ezines, offline magazines, and even your competitors' ads and sales letters... especially the successful ones!

Once you gathered enough data about their demands, the next step you should do is...

Step 2: Channel Those Demands to Your Product or Service

Explain them, in great detail, how your product and service can help them achieve their sweetest dreams or solve their worst problem, how fast and easy it'll be, etc.

Create a vivid mental picture in their mind of how wonderful it'll feel to achieve their dreams as the result of using your product or service. Describe the benefits in great detail until they can "see and feel" the pleasures.

All right, by now your prospects should be so pumped-up they could head-butt their computer monitor if they don't get their hands on anything you have to sell, right?

Not so fast...

You see, no matter how good you explain the benefits to them, no matter how great your claims are, if they don't believe you, they'll not respond...

So the last step is...

Step 3: Proof Your Claims

One of my favorite ways to do it is by using many specific testimonials.

Testimonials that can back your promises up are the best. Here's how to get it: Ask your existing customers about their results from using your product (usually 1-2 months after they buy). Don't just ask about what they think about it, ask them for specific results!

Sure, you might get less testimonials if you ask them to tell you their results, because most of your customers are very likely will never use your product at all after they buy. This is absolutely true if you're selling information products such as ebooks, home study courses, etc.

So you can consider to ask for testimonials TWICE. The first one is asking for their opinion about your product, usually sent 1 or 2 weeks after they buy, then 1 or 2 months later, send them another email asking them for the specific results they get from using your product or service.

This time you educate them on how to write "killer" testimonials. Tell them you want their success story, give them some examples of good testimonials and describe what kind of testimonials you want to hear from them.

You can also motivate them to do it by offering some valuable bonuses for taking their time to send you their success stories.

Another way to proof your claims are by using pictures. For example, if you're selling bodybuilding or weight loss products, using "before and after" pictures should be effective to proof your claims.

Bottom line, you should give your prospects as many reasons as possible to believe your claims or they won't take your promises seriously!

If you follow this simple formula, you'll make your sales message more emotionally appealing to your prospects and they'd be more excited to pay you for your products or services.

Closing the sale would be much easier then...
